Anxhela Beluli

Economics PhD student at University of Delaware

My research focuses on labor economics, household finance, and public policy, with a particular interest in welfare programs. Right now, I'm studying SNAP to better understand its impact on labor market outcomes and economic well-being.

I'm also an instructor at the University of Delaware, where I teach Health Economics, and an adjunct lecturer at Washington College. I enjoy teaching and breaking down complex economic ideas in a way that (hopefully) makes the material a little less intimidating.

During COVID, I took a break from regressions and started a candle-making business. Turns out, melting wax is surprisingly therapeutic, plus, it gave me an excuse to say things like, "I have a burning passion for econometrics".

When I’m not working, running, or exploring random hobbies, I’m usually getting lost in new cities, part flâneur, part economist, always on the hunt for the best coffee and a new perspective.
